Tides of Enchantment is a collaborative series between Samantha Sawyer and Malia Anderson. These works intertwine the vibrant inspirations of their contrasted yet linked island backgrounds of growing up in The Bahamas and Malia, Hawaii. The pieces explore the whimsical influences of the natural environment, creating shimmering worlds within each painting. Each artwork reflects a dialogue between the two artists, as they swap the works throughout the process and build upon one another’s ideas. Malia, a primary fibers artist, embroidered intricate beads and sparkles to emphasize these dreamscapes created.
